Jake's Chocolate

Even though you may think what you are telling your children goes in one ear and out the other, you then are surprised that they really are listening to you when they throw it back in your face...

Poor Jake woke up Monday with the stomach flu and was miserable all day with fever and vomiting...so much fun!! Thankfully he woke up the next day pretty much back to normal, but very whiny the last couple of days. Tonight as I was making dinner, Jake asked for a chocolate candy. I told him that he could have it after he ate all his dinner. So he took it to the table with him and put it next to his dinner to have after he was done. So when he finished his dinner and went to eat his chocolate, Matthew grabbed it before Jake could and was pretending to eat it and tell Jake how yummy it was. Unfortunately Jake did not think that was too funny which Matthew was I think hoping for. Instead he broke down and covered his face with his hands and cried. Matthew said, "Jake, I was just playing around with you. Here is your chocolate." Jake then crying says, "There is no playing around at the dinner table!" Matthew and I just started busting out laughing. I had to grab the camera and get a picture of Jake and his chocolate!

Photo Meme

I have been tagged by my friend Johnna to do a photo meme. Here are the rules:
*Open your photos, choose the 6th folder and then the 6th photo in that folder.
*Post the photo with a description about it and tag 6 friends to do the same

Here's the picture:

This is a picture of Jake on Halloween as a chicken when he was 1 year old. We are at our church's Harvest Party in the petting zoo area with the goats. I have to say he is the cutest chicken ever!

Ok and now since I don't have many follower blogger friends, I will tag only 5...
1. Jenna
2. Corinne
3. Laura
4. Bridget
5. Brianna

Have fun! Love ya!

Kids Say the Darndest Things!

Life with a 3 year old is never dull! I just had to share something cute that made me laugh this morning. I was singing the song, "Hosanna" by Starfield this morning while I was making Jake and Benjamin's breakfast in the kitchen. I know the Lord did not bless me with the greatest voice, but I never thought it was that bad:) Anyways, Jake was sitting at the kitchen table waiting for his breakfast and says, "Mama, stop singing!" I said, "Jake, that is not very nice." So thinking he was now going to be nice, Jake then says, "Excuse me Mama, can you pleeeease stop singing?" I have to say one thing...he is doing well learning his manners:)

How Do You Measure Success In Your Life?

Well, I never thought I would get an award for my little blog, but thanks to my great friend Bridget...I got an award! This award comes with a few to-do's:

1.) Say one nice thing to the man in your life:
I love you Matthew! I thank the Lord for bringing you into my life. You are such a wonderful husband and father to our boys. I appreciate all that you do for our family.

2.) List at least 6 ways you measure success in your life:
1. To walk with the Lord all the days of my life
2. To be the wife that God has called me to be to my husband
3. To be the best mother to my children and raise them to love Jesus
4. To be obedient to whatever the Lord calls me to do in my life
5. To have my life be a witness that it might bring others to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and
Savior
6. To trust the Lord completely

3.) Assign 5 other blogs this award: (I can only nominate 4 because the other 2 bloggers I know, Bridget and Brianna, already recieved this award)
1. Jenna (even though you are a new blogger...I helped you with your blog and it definentley
